Love is in the air…

Beaufort House, Chelsea
Who was there- This was the launch of Love and Lust London- which are nights out in private members clubs but for single people only! It’s run by the sister of Frankie from the Saturdays, so Frankie was there showing her support as well as her hubby Wayne Bridge. Also plenty of Made in Chelsea peeps—looking for their next on-screen hook-up perhaps?
Why we showed up- the invite said it would be full of hot singles… what’s not to love?! Plus it was being held at Beautfort House which is one of the hottest spots in Chelsea. We knew it would be a great night…
What we liked- knowing that everyone in the venue was single ;) As for the venue, Beautfort house is the perfect mix of swanky and cozy. It was small enough to mingle with the crowd, and the candlelit tables in the corner were perfect to get to know someone better…
Make sure you- dress to impress. There’s a lot of competition so you’ll need something to stand out from the crowd if you want to catch someone’s eye ;)
Avoid- if you’re with your boyfriend or girlfriend. These nights are all about the singles! Check it out here : www.loveandlustlondon.com

East London...Darlingggsss

Shoreditch House,
Who was there - It was Niall from One Directions Birthday Party, so he and a bunch of his pals (James Corden, Pixie Lott...) We also clocked the hunk from the Rihanna "we Found Love In a Hopeless place" music video...!
Why we showed up - We've been to the sister houses - Babington House (a remote luxurious country havan near Bath) and Soho house- a cosy and media-packed restaurant in the heart of London - basically, we wanted to complete the set...
What we liked - WHAT DIDN'T WE LIKE? If parents had favourites, this would be ours - it was definitely the most cherished of the three sisters. Everything from the roaring open fires, luxurious leather sofas and tapestry rugs inside to the comfy chairs dotted around the roof-top pool outside. It doesn't matter who you are with, this is the place where it's AT.It has the vibes of being at a bachelor-pad party ... the right sort of people in the right place...
Make sure you - know a member or are a member. There's a photo booth (as we've indicated above!) where you can take as many free and drunken shots as your giddy heart desires! Don't forget to fill your boots at the pick n' mix stall on the third floor too.
Avoid
- if you are insane :-)

Busting moves with the Crouches!

Duke Box, Kings Road, Fulham
Who was there - Abbey and Peter Crouch and pals, who despite being on a VIP table joined the masses and bopped with us for a good chunk of the night!
Why we showed up - A friend of ours had said she was once refused entry because of a private footballer's party going on in here...it sounded so A list. If footballers party there, we figured it must be worth a (saturday night) shot!
What we liked - the stripy, retro-inspired fish bowls (although they are square!). They are big enough to fit a plethora of straws in (and more...) and will keep you and your table quiet (or not!) for a while. Also check out the discreet secret booths covered in reflective mirror-glass at the back of the club!
Make sure you - try the mini burgers. We originally kicked up a fuss when we were told they were a tenner each ('we could gobble it in one!"). But MT soon shut her, erm, burger hole when she sunk her nashers into this gourmet delight! 'Best burger ever!' ...to this day
Avoid - if you are after a quiet night (a restaurant it definitely isn't...). Plus, "if you aren't on the guestlist (unless you are glitterati finest) you definitely aren't coming in.' Be prepared to be shooed away too, if you don't look the part. Rumour had it, one girl got turned down for wearing undesirable tights !

Creme de la creme...

No 5 Cavendish Square and Century Members CLub
who was there - no a listers in cavendish square, per se, BUT a sophisitcated bunch hang out here. We spotted Steve Jones leaving the Century club ahead of us :-)
Why we showed up - it was a Nicholas Feuillatte champagne event, but the choice of venues the chic brand decided to host their xmas parties at, speaks volumes at how exclusive they are.
What we liked - in cavendish square its literally like being in someones grand home. Full of marble columns and wide echoing corridors that go on for miles(andwe got lost down...)the beer garden is so pretty and dotted with fairy lights and toasty patio heaters.
Make sure you - Are a member of Century. Or lucky enough to know a member. if you do manage to wangle an invite, make sure you go up to the top floor bar/restaurant which although indoors has an interesting alfresco theme !
Avoid - not being a member!

Monday 1 December 2014

A party with a view...

Dayzed closing party, Sushi Samba, Heron Tower
Who was there - Spencer, Hugo...more made in chelsea - those guys get around! Plenty of models and good looking 'uns
Why we showed up - Dayzed are renowned for their wild parties arranged in swish settings. We had to try it out!
What we liked The stunning view, ibiza style tunes, massive roof terraces with pits of fire as patio heaters!
>Make sure you - check out the toilets! There's something exhilarating about being about being able to see the whole of London, while you use the private room!
Avoid - if it's winter...the heaters do the trick, plus the indoor restaurant is entirely transparent glass allowing stunning views in the dark of lit-up London. But we think it's best as a summer treat. TREAT being the important word, because again, it's quite pricey!

Posh People watch Polo...

Polo in the park, the hurlingham club, Fulham
Who was there - Every Glitterati of south west London and his pooch - Stevie, Cheska, Andy...and the gang!
Why we showed up - Not to watch the polo...! It was a baking hot day (yes we confess this was back in summer) and had heard it was a good daytime jolly.
Make sure you get tickets a month before (usually on the first week in June) around £20. It's worth it though - beautiful people and a beautiful location. Oh how the other half live...
What we liked the best - The frozen margaritas in the Mahiki tent, served in a huge pineapple. Also frozen tequila lollypops sold from a icecream stand...
Avoid if you despise anything remotely upper-class. This place is la-de-dah central. The drinks cater for the clientel and are at around the £10 mark, not for the frugal-hearted, okay ya?!

The Only Way is Camden....

Giglamesh, camden market
Who was there - Amy Childs and the Essex crew
Why we showed up - Amy Childs fashion launch
What we liked the most - chic exotic interior, good bustling atmosphere and great sushi menus. For this event we loved Amy's face on the cupcakes!
Make sure you - reserve a table at the weekends and try the crispy squid salad
Avoid - if you're skint. Although relatively cheap for the standard of quality the house bottle of wine comes in at a pricey £21...
